So I'm 'one of those' who upgrade to live sites. I just managed to learn how to use my computer with the MAMP:localhost for test sites. Have had no invasion/hacking problems in the past using SiteGround's Fantastico, but that doesn't mean I won't. I feel problems here, but cannot find answers. Question? is that install file the one I should remove,or does joomla need it to install extensions, etc.?Īnd does the global.php file need to be changed to 644 too? plus the file INSTALL.PHP is there too, with same 755. Then went to the root and found that my global.php also says it's off, but that file has 755 as permissions. Then found and ran the J-diagnostics, got a long list of security warnings, including the my Register global emulation is on.Ĭhecked my global config panel, and found them OFF. i hope the scoring has come through. Thanks, I went thru my FileManager to change it, but now find other permission problems. I thought SM site was not easy to find system requirements and appropriate version.Īnyway i must print your replies at the local library and once again thank you. it came up with 2.2 then i think i located version 1. Last night i couldn't easily find your version of SM. Consequently Seamonkey and TFF are now residing on the eMac. download this and there will be dire consequences but i see the world is still turning and NZ hasn't sunk further into the abyss. I agree about the musings on known vulnerabilites etc even i have just pushed on with some things regardless but they can put the fear of God into us plebs. I then disabled "All" and whoom that was good until i downloaded Seamonkey ( i don't like the name), upon opening seamonkey the warning showed again but when i closed and re opened it there wasn't a warning so progress has definitely been made. There was no response to the first two times i tried it so i realised the copy and paste probably wasn't working and i typed the words manually, i didn't think it worked then either cos it came up saying there was no attr value and offered help but i did it again then launched FF and the warning didn't show up so i left it at that. As the name implies it is indeed fatal should you use it incorrectly. I thought it might be Terminal where the command had to go, i noticed reference to it somewhere but just wanted to be sure. ![]() I have learned i can't give 5 at this point as i won't be able to score the answer a second time.Īs far as i can tell there has been success with all these issues. Might not get around to it for a couple of days, i will then come back and hopefully be able to score 10 for you. ![]() Tried Opera but it jammed badly on the Emac so another reason to stick with FF/ Safari. i tended to stick with FF cos i felt an old version of FF was better than old Safaris. Very interested in your comment re TenFourFox, first heard of it about 3 years ago but didn't know what to believe, i will now go ahead and give it a go on the eMac. i haven't set up mac mail, but of course will be able to access your response on web mail on the eMac.īy the look of the links you have sent i would not have been able to find them? I searched 3 books as well as every Setting thing i could find on the computer. i will need to forward your reply to the eMac. I am currently using my iMac so no point in using the links at the moment.
